Al Hilal secured a spot in the Saudi Super Cup final on Thursday with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over rivals Al Nassr. The highly anticipated match marked the debut of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo for Al Nassr, but it was Al Hilal who ultimately prevailed in a thrilling contest.
Salem Al-Dawsari gave Al Hilal the lead in the 18th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error by Al Nassr. However, Ronaldo equalized for his new club just before halftime, converting a penalty kick awarded after a handball in the box.
