WEB F1 23 Launching June 16th; PSVR2 Not Included
Racing Franchise Continues on Key Platforms
Codemasters has announced the release date for its upcoming racing title, WEB F1 23. The game will be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on June 16th. The game will feature all of the official drivers, teams, and circuits from the 2023 Formula 1 season, as well as a number of new features and improvements.
PSVR2 Exclusivity Not in the Picture
In a statement to MIXED News, EA revealed that F1 23 would not be getting a PSVR2 port. This is likely due to the fact that the PSVR2 is a relatively new headset with a limited install base. As a result, it would not be financially viable for Codemasters to develop a VR version of the game. It is worth noting, however, that F1 22 did support VR on PC, so it is possible that Codemasters could add VR support to F1 23 in the future.
Despite the lack of VR support, F1 23 is still expected to be a major release for Codemasters. The game is the first in the series to be developed on the new EA Sports F1 engine, which promises to deliver significant improvements to the game's visuals, physics, and AI.
